Fundraising with flair

I'm looking at doing some fundraising with flair for the early part of next year! I'm involved with some charity events and the end goal is obviously to maximise income. I'm an avid reader and this book, Uncover the Secrets of Charity Fundraising Events, has been a great kick starter. There's numerous fundraising titles available but this book I find is a really comprehensive guide to focusing plans and ideas to maximise returns. There's apps available for running silent auctions, such as iBid or Givergy which means that people can be involved from a physical event space (ball or gala dinner for example) but remotely people can bid too. Harness the power of the web! Check out UK Fundraising for a pool of information and news. There's a blog post today is on thanking your donors and sponsors and building that relationship for hopefully continued support. Be original in your choice of themes for events. Seasonal events…

Mind North Staffordshire balloon wall

The events are still a major factor in my business but I'm loving the opportunity to be creative and put balloon installations together at the moment while doing the planning and computer work too! Friday night saw a masquerade ball for MIND North Staffordshire and I created an organic balloon wall. It was a random, textured design and was perfect for selfies while promoting the charity at the same time. I mixed in a few of the charity's own balloons and then topping it with the huge MIND letters having used blues and silvers throughout the piece. I do classic, stylish designs too but this was a real eye-catching show stopper! Close upThe finished wall

Happy Halloween!

As the fright fest happens I’m delighted to share the balloon arch made for a local school’s Halloween party complete with a spider balloon and report back on the afternoon. The children loved it the balloons, they made a great entranceway and a spot to have photos taken. There’s a lot of funny expressions captured on photos with the children pulling scared faces at the giant spider! This was all accompanied by the school’s regular disco setup and then we added in some games, a pumpkin parade and costume competition.
