Crewe Rail Ale Festival Case Study
The Crewe Rail Ale Festival is run for the local branch of CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale, having moved to Crewe from Nantwich in 2012. CAMRA is a volunteer organisation and as such my contributions were on a voluntary basis. At any time I like to work with a charity or volunteer organisation to help with their event.
The Crewe Rail Ale Festival already had a following but wanted to inject new life in to their online presence. I established the group a very simple WordPress website that could be updated via the WordPress app with a photo and some text. It achieved over 6500 views in one month.
There already was an existing Facebook page but with some tags, links to relevant site, great photos and sharing in relevant local groups the following grew by a third. The highest views on a single post were 12,000.
The numbers over the weekend were an increase on previous years showing a positive response to the social media management and marketing efforts.
